If you have purchased a ticket on Air New Zealand or selected Star Alliance carriers you may be able to use your Airpoints Dollars™ to upgrade.
Standby and Confirmed Upgrades are available between Economy, Premium Economy and Business Premier on Air New Zealand ticketed and operated flights.
Confirmed upgrades may also be available on these participating Star Alliance carriers; Air China, ANA, Asiana, Austrian Airlines, LOT Polish Airlines, Lufthansa, SAS, Shanghai Airways, Singapore Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines, TAP Portugal, Thai Airways, Turkish Airlines and United.
