Norfolk Island - Tasman Fares
Air New Zealand's Tasman service offers our customers consistently lower everyday fares.
These low fares are available to all 25 destinations around New Zealand as well as Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane through our Auckland gateway.
Three Fare Types
Simplicity is the essence of Tasman fares. Your Tasman ticket will be made up of one-way fares, meaning greater savings and more options when planning your trip. The one-way fare types are:
- Tasman Smart Saver - our lowest fares for travel to and from New Zealand and Australia. These fares are non-refundable, although can be changed right up to departure (note that a $100 change penalty applies and a fare upgrade and service fee may also apply). You will not earn Airpoints Dollars™ when travelling on these fares. Get in quick and book early because Tasman Smart Saver fares sell fast!
- Tasman Flexi Saver - travel on our mid-range fares and earn Airpoints Dollars when you fly. These fares are non-refundable, although can be changed right up to departure (note that a $100 change penalty applies and a fare upgrade and service fee may also apply).
- Tasman Flexi - these fares offer you the most flexibility for travel as changes are permitted right up to departure - and beyond if you miss your flight. You won't be charged a penalty for changing your ticket, although you'll have to pay any difference in the cost of the new fare plus applicable service fees.
| Selected Routes | Smart Saver | Flexi Saver | Flexi |
| one-way from | one-way from | one-way from | |
| Norfolk Island - Auckland/Wellington/ Christchurch | $219* | $299* | $459* |
* Fares are in AUD, and do not include applicable taxes, levies and charges. If booking with a travel agent, confirm your fare levels and check whether service/booking fees will also apply.
Choose your ticket depending on the flexibility you need. The rules and restrictions of Tasman fares are different so you need to be careful when choosing your fares. Make sure you understand the fare rules and conditions before purchasing a ticket since some fares become "use it or lose it" on the day of departure.
Tasman Service
Onboard, there are small differences in the Economy Class service. A new-look, light and contemporary food and beverage service is now offered inflight on Tasman services.
We continue to provide inflight entertainment as well as a complimentary copy of the Air New Zealand Magazine. If you enjoy reading, remember to also bring a good book as the onboard selection of newspapers and magazines has been removed. You need to be checked in at least 90 minutes before your flight. This is particularly important if you are travelling on a Tasman Smart Saver or Tasman Flexi Saver fare. If you miss your flight, these are "use it or lose it" types of fares and you will have to buy another ticket!
